OTHM LEVEL 3 FOUNDATION DIPLOMA IN HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE MANAGEMENT

Overview

If you are seeking an entry level position in the Health and Social Care industry as a Support Worker, Senior Support Worker or Healthcare Assistant, the Level 3 Qualification will equip you with the foundational knowledge, understanding and skills for the job. You will also be able to progress to further study after successfully completing this level.

Qualification Structure

The Level 3 Foundation Diploma is a 60 credit rated qualification of 600 Total Qualification Time (TQT) and 120 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) of 6 compulsory Modular Units.

COMPULSORY MODULAR UNITS

  • Responsibilities of a Health and Social Care Worker (10 credits).
  • Personal and Professional Development in Health and Social Care (10 credits).
  • Effective Communication and Ethical Practice in Health and Social Care (10 credits).
  • Health, Safety and Wellbeing in Health and Social Care Settings (10 credits)
  • Person-Centered Approaches in Health and Social Care Settings (10 credits).
  • Effective Handling of Information in Health and Social Care Settings (10 credits.)

Entry Requirements

  • Prospective applicant must be 18 years at the commencement of their study.
  • 5 O/Level credits including English language and Mathematics.
  • Matured applicant 18 years and above without the requisite qualification but with relevant experience in the Healthcare industry, such as Auxiliary Nurses, will be considered for admissions.

6 Months

Assessment of respective modular units are by assignments only. There is no closed book examinations.

The Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Health and Social Care Management is equivalent to the GCE A/Level or BTEC A/Level Diploma.

On successfully completing the Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Health and Social Care Management, you can seek to be admitted into the first year of a British University Degree in Health and Social Care Management, Nursing, Public Health and Promotion etc.
