OTHM LEVEL 7 DIPLOMA IN HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE MANAGEMENT

Overview

The Level 7 Diploma in Health and Social Care Management aims to develop learners understanding of policy, management theory and practice in Health and Social Care; providing opportunity for solutions and the engagement of those challenges facing healthcare professionals, service users and policymakers.

The. Qualification provides both theoretical and practical knowledge that underpins the ability to work effectively as a Senior Manager in a variety of roles within the Health and Social Care industry. Emphasis of the Level 7 Diploma is on Change and Performance Management, Management Development and Accountability within the setting.

Qualification Structure

The Level 7 Diploma in Health and Social Care Management is a 120 credit rated qualification of 1200 Total Qualification Time (TQT) and 600 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) of 6 compulsory Modular Units.

  • Managing People in Health and Social Care (20 credits)
  • Managing Finance and Health and Social Care (20 credits)
  • Leading Change in Health and Social Care (20 credits)
  • Health and Social Care Strategies and Policies (20 credits)
  • Research Methods for Health Care Professionals (20 credits)

Entry Requirements

  • Level 6 Diploma qualification or equivalent.
  • BSc/BA degrees or equivalent
  • 5 O/Level credits including English language and Mathematics is a pre-qualification requirements.
  • Learners must be 21 Years old at the beginning of programme.

6 Months

Assessment of respective modular units are by assignments only. There is no closed book examinations.

The Level 7 Diploma in Health and Social Care Management is equivalent to a British University Master’s Degree. Learners will need to complete a dissertation at 60 credits with a British University to achieve a full Master’s Degree. A UK full MSc degree is rated at 180 credits.

On successfully completing the Level 7 Diploma in Health and Social Care Management, Learners can progress to a MSc top-up degree with advanced standing by writing dissertation only to gain a full Master’s degree.
